|
Fellow immortals that have graced
the show. Some have made
strong impressions - achieving their
own cult status and fan fiction
fame, while others have faded into
the background. Here is your
guide to Nick's fellow denizens of
the night. If I have forgotten
any, please let me know. |
Season One
 |
Alyce Hunter
-
Dark Knight I & II
- The hapless
archeologist from the Royal
Toronto Museum who Nick
claims he nearly kills after
kissing her, probably due to
his starving himself; barely
drinking even enough cow
blood.
Alyce is at both turns
pathetic and industrious.
Bumping into Nick at the
museum, she immediately
gloms on to him, quoting,
"hold me." At the same
time she uses a Mayan
display to figure out Nick's
security code.
Unfortunately, this leads
her to both the Homeless
Killer and LaCroix, who
accidentally brings her
across before Nick
supposedly slays him with a
fiery stake. She is
last seen hovering above the
skylight of the museum in
Dark Knight Part II. |
 |
Alma
- For I Have Sinned
- One of the resident vamps
that lives at The Raven (as
far as we know). She
is most famous for almost
turning Schanke into a meal,
stopped by the intervention
of Janette, who tells
Schanke to never come back
to her club, which promise
of course was broken by the
episode, Hunters.
Alma is a fairly young or
mid-aged vampire, as she
immediately obeys Janette.
Many fan fictions and
speculations have used her
"affection" for Schanke to
bring him across before the
plane crash in Black Buddha
I. |
 |
Erica Bentley
- Last Act -
An ex-lover of Nick who
commits suicide by sitting
on a park bench at dawn.
Nick finds her ring among
the ashes and starts to
contemplate why.
Flashbacks from when they
were both in a traveling
actors troupe show her
suicidal tendencies; how she
will soon grow tired of her
immortal life and end it
when she feels she is no
longer contributing to
society. In the
present day she haunts Nick
as a ghost, tempting him to
the other side. |
 |
Mystery Vampire I
- Last Act - A
youngster desperate and
foolish to show her power in
public. Nick is not
impressed. |
 |
Richard Lambert
- Last Act -
Natalie's brother who was
shot by an uncontrollable
perp. Nick brings him
across after hearing Nat's
pleas and against his better
judgment. Staked by
Nick when he becomes a
vigilante and leaves bodies
out in the open.
However, Nick leaves Richard
alone in his loft with
nothing but cow blood and
bare-bones training, so Nick
bears the brunt of the
responsibility, despite
Nat's change of heart. |
 |
Elizabeth
- Last Act - A leper
Nick notices riding along
the shore in Ireland while
she is attacked and harassed
by the local population of
fishermen. He heals
her disease by turning her
into a vampire, but
ultimately pushes her into a
fire after she takes her
revenge on everyone that
tortured or ridiculed her.
Another unjustified killing,
in my opinion. :)= |
 |
Daniel
- Father Figure - An
orphan who survived on the
streets during the by being
a pickpocket. He runs
into our favorite trio when
he steals Nick's wallet.
(This is right before the
Blitzkrieg attack on England
during World War II.)
Janette is immediately
struck by his impish
behavior and plight and
takes him home with them.
(Another clue that Janette
is not so hardened to the
suffering of mortals as she
claims)
When Nick hears of Janette's
(not sure) and LaCroix's
plans for the boy, he orders
him to leave. Nick's
"good deed" is thwarted when
Uncle brings him across
anyway. |
 |
Danny the Video Editor
- Unreality TV - A
vampire working at the TV
studio that Tawny Teller
(the reporter) works from.
He finds the tapes of Nick
moving way too fast to
apprehend a perp Nick and
Schanke are after during the
news segment on "Top Cops."
Since Tawny has physical
proof of the existence of
vampires, Nick cannot
hypnotize her into
forgetting so easily.
Danny takes matters into his
own hands and tries to kill
Tawny since he can't whammy
her, but Nick comes to her
rescue just in time. |
 |
The Enforcers
- Unreality TV - Big,
bad vampires with extra-long
fangs that guard the secret
of the existence of vampire
kind. Any mortal they
discover, must either be
brought across or killed-no
exceptions.
They appear in a flashback
during the civil war when
their attention is called
forth because a photographs
have appeared of LaCroix
flying and feeding on the
dead soldiers. Uncle
is too old an powerful and
has enough influence that he
gets off with a warning. |
 |
Dr. Sophia Jurgen aka The
Baroness
- If Looks Could Kill
- A former noblewoman in
1800's Germany who tempted
Nick and asked him to make
her what he was. Nick
refused, but Janette was all
too happy to oblige.
Speculation has wavered
between Janette doing the
job herself or asking
LaCroix, since it was
revealed in I Will Repay
that she was too much of a
glutton to stop at the point
to give the victim her
blood. But others have
also thought that she is
only like that with men.
In the modern day, she is a
plastic surgeon with an
elite practice. She
keeps older women looking
young by injecting them with
vampire blood-her own.
It temporarily arrests the
aging process, but does not
make them vampires and the
effects are not lasting.
The women in her practice
become addicted to the
treatments and violent.
Sophia does not truly see
the horrible results until
Schanke shoots Agnes and her
corpse instantly turns back
into an old woman. |
 |
Alexandra
- Fatal Mistake - The
dingbat barmaid that Nick
seduces, drains, and leaves
for dead. Unbeknownst
to Nick, there is still life
left in her, and LaCroix
goes to the funeral parlor
to feed her his blood,
thereby reviving her to
immortal life.
300 years later she comes to
Toronto to hunt down Nick;
to kill him for leaving her
to die. |
Season Two
 |
Aristotle
-
Forward Into the Past - Not known
if he is the real person or just an
alias, but he's the vampire you come to
when it's time to move on. He's a
computer whiz that helps you hide,
provide fake ID's, birth certificates,
drivers licenses, and the lot.
He's also the only vampire I've seen
wearing glasses. Perhaps even they
get eye strain from the computer! |
 |
Thomas
-
Faithful Followers- A vampire who in
the 1920's Egypt pretends to be another
seeking a cure for his condition like
Nick, but really holds a wager with
LaCroix. He bets LC that he can
lure (with Nick's permission) an
esteemed female Egyptologist into his
tent under the pretense to translate a
scroll or stone that supposedly could be
a cure for vampirism. Instead Thomas
kills the professor.
LaCroix is
preturbed to lose the bet, but is
positively gleeful over the dumbfounded
look on Nick's face. |
 |
Don Constantine
- Father's Day - A powerful mob
boss in Toronto that even the vampires
have to bow down to. LaCroix owes
him a favor for helping the Dark Trinity
out in the 1920's, and the favor is to
bring his wayward grandson back into the
fold, or kill him.
LaCroix
obliges Nick in not killing
Constantine's grandson, but instead
brings the old don across.
Grandson and Grandfather embrace and all
is well. |
 |
Jack the Ripper
- Bad Blood - LaCroix feeds on
him in 1881 London. The Ripper's
blood is so evil it is poisioned-making
LaCroix sick and incapacitated.
While he feeds on the Ripper, LaCroix
accidentally injects the notorious
serial killer with his blood, changing
him into a vampire
Terrorizes present-day Toronto and
killed in a fire through the cooperation
between Nick, Liam O'Neal (a partially
changed human who becomes a hunter),
Natalie, and a rookie detective, Bridget
Hellman |
 |
Bald Raven Waitress
- Bad Blood - Harassed by O'Neal
with a cross in the Raven. Can't
remember if he burned her forehead,
though |
 |
Miklos
- Bad Blood & A Fate Worse Than Death
- To some his status of a vampire is up
for debate since his skin doesn't smoke
when the cross touches it. But I
suspect he is a vampire because he
becomes extremely irate when the cross
is forced upon him, his grip is
extremely strong pulling O'Neal's hand
away, and I don't think Janette would
trust a mortal to serve her vampire
guests The Raven's Special Blend.
Also,
Gillian Horvath (FK writer) has gone on
record to say that Miklos was written by
her to be a vampire. |
 |
Bridget Hellman
- Bad Blood - The Rookie
detective working on the Ripper case.
She is bit by Jack before he burns to
death in the abandoned building.
Presumed dead, but haunts her gravesite
before getting hit with a crossbow by
O'Neal. |
 |
Vampire Soldiers
- Can't Run, Can't Hide -
LaCroix's compadres in Vietnam.
There for the free food. |
 |
Tran
-Can't Run, Can't Hide - A slain
VC that LaCroix brings across because he
has such revenge in his heart. Has been
hunting down and killing (by knife) the
soldiers that murdered his family and
village. His task is completed
when he kills Casey Brooks, the leader
of the Battalion. Then he greets
the sun and dies. |
 |
Felix Twist
- Blood
Money - Vampire gardener, computer,
and financial genius. Gets Nick's
money back and safely in Swiss bank
accounts. Roses are his favorite
flower. |
 |
Briana
- A More Permanent Hell -
Employee at the Raven. Observes
heedless mortals, including Natalie, who
is "more than a little drunk."
Warns Janette when she picks up Spark, a
young vampire. |
 |
Spark
- A More Permanent Hell - The
vampire Natalie picks up at the Raven
with the purpose of coming across, since
Nick spurned her in the morgue.
Before
being killed in Nat's apartment, he has
a run in Nick while attacking a young
woman in a park. |
 |
Mystery Vampire II
-
Curiouser and Curiouser - Blond
female that hits on Nick by baring her
fangs and hissing in his face.
Nick once again turns her down, perhaps
her breath is bad and she forgot to
floss. :)= |
 |
Serena
- Baby, Baby - Woman who hunts
down Nick at his favorite Paris club in
the roaring '20's with the purpose of
getting him to father her baby.
Nick, however, misconstrues her talk of
"immortality" with wanting to become a
vampire, so he brings her across.
Enter
the present day, and Serena is still on
her quest to have a baby, and with the
ceremonial conditions, there is a bonus:
she will become mortal.
She
picks out a murderer takes him up to the
CN tower during a full moon and they
have at it. He's dead and it
doesn't work, and she's still mad a
Nick. |
Season Three
 |
The Inca
-
Black
Buddha I & II-
A warrior defending his land (Lake
Titicaca, 1531) from Spanish
Conquistadors. One of those
happen to be Javier Vachon, and they
fight day and night, to the death.
In their dying breaths, they are
noticed by The Angel, who has been
watching nearby.
In
present day Toronto he accosts
Tracy, (not to kill her but to
figure out how she knows of him and
vampires). Nick enforces his
authority as an elder to get him and
Vachon to make-up. He is
apparently killed when he flies away
with Vudu's bomb. |
 |
The Angel
- Black Buddha I - An Aztec
Priestess, she brings across both
The Inca and Vachon because they are
noble warriors. She instructs
both of them to use their new powers
for good and feed on the wicked.
After
teaching them, she opens her arms to
Father Sun and dies. Vachon
and The Inca bury themselves in the
dirt to protect themselves during
the day sleep.
The
Inca seemingly keeps his promise,
but Vachon breaks his word, wanting
to see the world first. |
 |
Perry The Wonder Dog
- Blind Faith - Perry is a
guide dog who escapes from his
mistress and is attacked by a
Carouche in a park and turned into
one himself.
No one
except Nick and Nat know this is no
ordinary dog, and Nick feeds him his
cow blood. Everything is ok
until he attacks a worker at Jody's
job. Nick remembers from
experience from the necessary death
of his dog, Raleigh, but doesn't
have the heart to do it again |
 |
Jody
- Blind Faith - A friend of
Tracy's who works as a police
dispatcher. She has terminal
MS which has blinded her and relies
on Perry to help her get around.
Is brought across by Perry |
 |
Bourbon
- My Boyfriend is a Vampire -
One of Vachon's crew along with
Screed and Urs. Nothing else
is known about him or his
whereabouts. |
 |
Ellen/Monica/Jacqueline
- Hearts of Darkness -
Multiple personality created to fend
of her abusive father and men who
dumped on her. Lived as a
mortal as Ellen even while a
vampire. Personality Monica
lead her to a dalliance with a
vampire who brought her across and
caused her rebirth as Jacqueline.
Ellen and Jacqueline alternate, so
Ellen doesn't know when Jacqueline
kills, which is frequently.
Urs brings the Ellen personality
back out to see what's she's
done-killed Marnecki the hockey
player, and is so shocked she jumps
off the roof of the apartment
building. |
 |
Rasputin
- Strings - Brought across by
LaCroix to cause the Russian
Revolution. Episode is said to
be historically inaccurate. |
 |
Eva
-Sons of Belial - A vampiress
that picks up Nick at The Raven.
They enjoy a steamy interlude, until
Nick's possession causes him to
choke her instead of the awaited
bite. |
 |
Francesca du Montagne
-
Francesca - Former lover of
Nick. Killed when he
discovered she would hire musicians
and artists and kept them locked up
in cages in her dungeon. Said
to have an uncommon soul which
possessed a man named Frank, who
remembered her life and exploits. |
 |
Divia
- Ashes to Ashes & A More
Permanent Hell - LaCroix's
mortal daughter who was sick and
brought across by an ancient
Egyptian vampire who posed as a
healer, who Divia subsequently
killed. Brought her father
across during the eruption of
Pompeii.
The
psychotic little wench has a score
to settle with dear daddy-when they
were both immortal, she wanted to
commit incest and when he refused,
lopped her head off with an iron
scythe. LaCroix but her in a
stone tomb with the Egyptian Sun God
on the lid, believing her
dead.
But
she comes back with a vengeance,
killing Urs, Vachon, countless
others who are associated with
LaCroix, and injures Nick.
LaCroix is despondent during his
fight with Divia and barely puts up
an effort; perhaps too guilty to
kill his daughter again. It
takes a recovered Nick to stake her,
and her body is eventually burned. |
